Dr. Karyl Ropko and Elvis
Dr. Karyl Ropko started her career by working in a few small animal hospitals, utilizing her skills as a veterinary technician for more than 15 years. After returning to school and graduating from Michigan State’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990, she went right to work at the Cat & Dog Hospital, taking over for a retiring veterinarian. The first few years were spent establishing and building long-term relationships with her patients and their owners. Since then, the hospital has grown, offering longer hours, a new state-of-the-art facility, and an increasingly higher level of pet care. Currently, Dr. Ropko keeps busy with her responsibilities as owner/manager, but finds it takes a backseat to her love for practicing quality medicine and surgery. Her special interests include feline medicine and soft tissue surgery. You can see Dr. Ropko on WZZM TV 13 “Pet Peeves” every week during the Thursday noon-time news broadcast.
